It can get lonely at the top

The Martin’s Swiss Cycle Team enjoyed a list of successes over the 2007 season. Namely, the Martin’s Swiss Tri-Team was seen again and again on the podium across the various men’s and women’s categories.

Things are already cooking up for the 2008 season, but before we get excited about what’s up ahead, let us quickly browse through some podium finishes of this past season, and let us also thank our many generous sponsors that have all contributed greatly to make another season of racing the success that it was:

Website Re-Runs: Interbike Story

1-sram-booth-2.jpg

There was a long list of incredible booths at this year’s Vegas Interbike show. It’s not that it’s a contest or anything …maybe it kinda is, but if we had to choose one company to talk about first; it would have to be SRAM.

The Specialized Tri-Cross (aka New Years in September?)

1-trcrssexcover.jpg

Competition in “the industry” is getting fierce! The new Specialized TriCross Expert is officially the first new model in the shop for the 2008 season. The cyclo-cross bikes always land early, just in time for cross-season, but this year Specialized beat Kona’s Jake the Snake on delivery by just a few days.

Before we have a peak at a list of new toys that have just landed lets first mention that the cyclo-cross season has taken off at Martin’s: the Jake the Snakes and the TriCross Experts have arrived and are on the sales floor, off-season gear is starting to roll in, and the weekly rides have officially turned from the road to well, anywhere your cyclo-cross bike’ll take you. Give us a call on the phone, or send us an email to find out what the scoop is on the Tuesday and Saturday shop rides.

Back the TriCross:

The TriCross Expert was a serious horse in 2007; aside from its bombproof frameset, it had a beautiful parts spec and looked fantastic, but somehow, for the new season, Specialized has managed again to push the limits of price/value feasibility. The 08 bike is built on the proven aluminum frameset/carbon-fork-and-seatstay combo and is dressed in a Sram Rival groupo instead of the Ultegra kit that came part of the 07 equipment.

Select the cover story image to scroll through more on the new TriCross Expert as well as pictures of some of the other hot stuff that’s been in the shop recently.

We’re not going out of business; we’ve just gone riding!

1-bromonttonyblair-1-copy.jpg

Greetings to all of our dearest clients! Before jumping back into another buying season, we at Martin’s would like to stop for a second and thank all those who made this summer at the shop a whirlwind-success of spinning wheels and logged kilometers.

Unfortunately, amidst the scene of non-stop in-shop action, it was quite difficult to get to our beloved website this year. We’ve been making little steps. We appreciated all client inquiries through the course of the season and hope that response times weren’t to long-drawn.

Though news was visible this season on our web-page, there has been much in the making for next year. You can expect to see many new, regularly updated features for the 2008 season; including product reviews, ride stories, shop movies and audio bites, a Martin’s Online Store, a used bike column and much more scandalous content(!).

The Cyclo-Cross season is now upon us, so, let us ready ourselves for the early ’08 cross bikes that will land shortly. Of course, we’ll be logging as many saddle/hours as we can get away with!

Stay tuned for cross-ride updates as well as stories from the west coast.

Oh ya, and swing by the shop for SALES ON ALL REMAINING 2007 STOCK!!!

Here are some 07 season highlights for y’all:

More excellent loose ends of the season:
Horizontal Sailboat (Monterey)
Horizontal sailboat? What the hell is that? (it’s very small, on the left, it’s white…)

Martin’s mowers.
Martin’s mowers. These were found out in the backyard, neatly piled. A story will most certainly follow.

DJs
Anyone get this chaps name? Tell him he made the team.
